Bhavnagar District Explanation.
At present, in any government job recruitment of Gujarat government, if we look, there are many questions from different districts of Gujarat in the questions of General Knowledge. Adequate marks can be obtained for each of these districts if proper preparation is done, so here is an explanation of each district in the following simple language.
Here we start Bhavnagar district.
Bhavnagar was founded by Bhavsinhji Raja in AD. Even in 1723, the entire Bhavnagar was developed by Maharaja Takht Singhji. At the time of independence of the country, for the first time in the unity of the country, there is a princely state dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai. Maharaja Krishnakumar surrendered the kingdom without any hesitation. Later Krishnakumar Singhji served as Governor in different states.
Talukas of Bhavnagar :
Speaking of Bhavnagar district, it has a total of 10 talukas. These ten talukas include Bhavnagar, Ghogha, Shihor, Talaja, Mahuva, Palitana, Jessore, Gariadhar, Vallabhipur and Umrala.
Features of Bhavnagar District: –
- Bhavnagar has been at the forefront of the country’s independence. In the specialty of Bhavnagar, it is called Gohilwad. This Gohilwad means the area of Ghelo and Shetruji rivers. Apart from that, Bhavnagar is famous for its antelope sanctuary called Black Buck which is the largest national park in the world. This city has been given the title of Sanskarnagari. And this city is considered as Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus tree) district.
- Mahua is known for making ivory. Gujarat is the largest producer of pomegranate and sorghum. Multani ranks first in the production of clay and plastic clay in the whole of Gujarat. Bhavnagar is famous all over the world for its splendor i.e. Bhavnagari Patara and Ganthia which are very famous. Pirambet Island is located in Bhavnagar and is the only railway station in Gujarat with a female porter.
The total number of talukas of Bhavnagar district is 10 but based on their characteristics, important matters of some talukas are recorded here, which are as follows.
Ghogha : –
- There is a temple of Pashwanathji in Ghogha taluka, and Ghogha-Dahej ferry service was started on 22nd October 2017 by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Bhai Modi. Lake Soneria is located at Ghogha.
- Bhavnagar is considered to be the old capital of the state. The home industry of copper-brass utensils runs here. Shihor is known for its brass carvings. There is a temple of Gautameshwar Mahadev and next to it is Gautameshwar lake.
Palitana : –
- The ancient name is known as Padaliptapur. It is called the city of temples of Gujarat. It is considered as one of the five holy pilgrimages of Jainism. There are a total of 863 Jain temples in Palitana. All these temples are managed by Anandji Kalyanji’s firm. It is considered to be the birthplace of Rishabhdevji, the first pilgrim of Jainism.
Mahuva : –
- Saurashtra is known as Kashmir. Mahuva is located on the banks of the river Malan. Mahuva is the well-known mango chief of the city. The wooden toy industry is booming.
Vallabhipur : –
- Vallabhipur is located on the banks of the river Ghelo. Is considered the capital of the friendly dynasty. Vallabhi Vidyapeeth is located here which was considered as equivalent to Nalanda and Takshashila Vidyapeeth in education.
Things to remember about Bhavnagar: –
- Bhavnagar is the town of Pujya Gandhi Bapu’s college period – Shamaldas College.*
- The only port with lockgate in Gujarat.*
- An organization called Lokmilap which distributes books at concessional rates. Which is managed by Mahendra Meghani.
- Dakshinamurti Sanstha in Ambala village established by Nanabhai Bhatt.
- Manubhai Pancholi – Lokbharati Vidyapeeth Sanstha located in Sanosara village of Darshak.*
- Gaurishankar Lake, Takhteshwar Temple and Ruvapari Mata Temple located in the center of Bhavnagar’s Shaan Samu city are worth seeing.
- Asia’s largest ship breaking yard – located at Alang.
- Immaculate Mahadev was established by the Pandavas in the village of Koliyak, about 20 km from Bhavnagar district, where there is a folklore that the black flag of the Pandavas turned white at this place. Where a big fair is held on Shravan Amas and a local fair is held every month.
- About 17 km from the city is the famous temple of Khodiyar Mata where Tatanio Dharo is located. Where there is water even during drought.
- The temple of Gopnath Mahadev where Narasimha Mehta had darshan of Lord Shiva Krishnalila rather than Shiva worship. The Lokmelo is held there in the month of Shravan.
- The temple of Bagdeshwar Mahadev on the banks of Bagad river as well as the ashram of Sant Shri Bajrangdas (Bagdana) Bapa.
- Talaja taluka which was known as ancient Taladhwajpuri.
- Famous storyteller Moraribapu’s birth place is located in Talagajarda village where Pujya Bapu’s Chitrakootdham Ashram is also located.
- Hathab village known as Turtle Breeding Center.
- A salt water purification plant is located at Avaniya village.
- National Highway – 8 (E) which is now known as No. 51 passes through Bhavnagar.
- Krishnakumar Singhji Bhavnagar University, popularly known as Maharaja Krishnakumar, is located.
- Barton Library and Gandhi Smriti (Crescent).
- The Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute is established for salt research. * Brahmakund – Shihor, Gaurishankar Lake – Bhavnagar, Bortalao – Bhavnagar are famous lakes.
- There is a dairy called Dudhasarita.
- Ghogha port has been known since ancient times.
- Ghogha – Dowry Row – Row ferry service has started soon.
- A village named Mazadar of Dulabhaya Kaag.
- The main rivers are Ghelo, Malan, Kalubhar and Shetruji rivers etc.
